Statement of Purpose

"...to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening, to participate in the nurturing and preservation of our natural resources, and to advocate for controlled and responsible community development."

The Guilford Garden Club meets once each month except in July and August.  Some meetings are General Meetings.  Other meetings are part of the Club’s Ongoing Club Projects [“Christmas on Broad Street”/”The Christmas Boutique”].  The Club also performs Community Projects that are designed to benefit the Guilford community and participates with other organizations in worthy community events.  Flower Arranging, both teaching of new members and arranging as part of other projects, is an important part of the Club’s activities.  And we have fun while learning by informal Trips and Tours of other members’ gardens, area flower shows and landscaping/garden center organizations.  We've listed a sample of Past Projects over recent years.

GENERAL MEETINGS

The Guilford Garden Club holds monthly general meetings from September through June primarily at the Nathanael Greene Community Center. The meetings are free and open to the public. Several meetings are devoted to special events: the December meeting, for example, is included within the "The Christmas Boutique" and "Christmas on Broad Street" events. Regular meetings have guest speakers. Members take turns providing arrangements or horticulture specimens according to the schedule.
